SupHerb Farms IQF Cilantro Large recalled in Canada because of pieces of wood

Caldic Canada Inc. is recalling SupHerb Farms brand IQF Cilantro Large because of possible contamination with pieces of wood, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).

This Class 3 recall affects products distributed to hotels, restaurants, institutions and manufacturers in Ontario.

As of the posting of this recall, no illnesses have been reported.

Affected businesses are advised not to use, sell, serve or distribute the recalled product and should either discard it or return it to the supplier.

About foreign material contamination

Pieces of wood in food products can cause injury to the mouth, throat, or digestive tract if ingested and may pose a choking hazard. Consumers or businesses that have used the affected cilantro and notice symptoms such as pain or difficulty swallowing should seek medical attention.
